Wedding Venue (Dos Palmas)

Aug 3, 2011

I must admit that Dos Palmas Island Resort made my day when we were there this year's summer. It may not be as beautiful and luxurious as other island resorts out there but it can technically make your holiday complete.

Dos, as it is popularly called by the locals is an island resort in Palawan, Philippines. The resort's main attractions are guided scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, and a tour of the place. You can also make use of other facilities such as billiards, bicycle, etc. More importantly, their scrumptious buffet is superb (yum-yum) and i vouch you wouldn't be disappointed hehe.

There maybe more other things I've overlooked that might ruin the choosing of the venue but I guess Dos is still incomparable with others. So in October this year, Dos Palmas Island Resort will be the venue of a wedding. Whose wedding? MY WEDDING!

See you all, then?

GHOTI means Fish

Aug 2, 2011

Let's have a review or perhaps let us learn something new about the English language. Does it make you hate English because of its craziness? One book author stated that "of all languages, English has the largest vocabulary - perhaps as many as two million words - and of course it has one of the noblest bodies of literature.

However, let's face it! English is a crazy language! Example - if the teacher taught - why isn't it that the preacher praught? If a horsehair mat is made from the hair of horses and a camel hair coat from the hair of camels - what is the name of the animal that gives us mohair? If a vegetarian eats vegetables - what does a humanitarian eat"? HUMAN? That's scary hehe!

Some words are also spelt in ways which bear no resemblance to the way they are pronounced. Say for instance the word GHOTI which according to the article i read, it meant FISH and should be pronounced FISh. What??? Read it HERE

Note: Images were taken at Bueng Boraphet Aquarium in Nakhon Sawan.

Hibiscus

Jul 24, 2011

Hibiscus is common a flower that grows in tropical, subtropical, and warm temperate climate throughout the world. This flower is not only a hit to bees and butterflies because of its showy petals and long pollen grains but also in the Caribbean especially in Jamaica for making herbal teas and jams. And for the record, one of its species is the national flower of Korea (Hibiscus syriacus), while (Hibiscus rosa-sinesis) is the national flower of Malaysia.

Here's the hibiscus planted near the temple in Nakorn Sawan in two different colors (red and yellow). The colors were just adorable and not taking shots would mean disrespect to its beauty hehe.

Jaunted in Nakorn Sawan

Jul 21, 2011

The supposed two hour drive from Phitsanulok to Nakorn Sawan to celebrate the long weekend took longer than expected. From what i understand, it took us almost three hours. Worst yet, we were like in a standing ovation mode for couple of minutes because there were no available seats anymore. I was frustrated and had wished the trip never happened.

Things were really getting worst as i was trying to find the best position whilst holding the dog, Jasmine. It was difficult to hold her because there was no space where she can roam freely and she was shifting positions once every 5 or 10 seconds. Seriously, i somewhat regret bringing her.

The frustration left my whole being when from afar, the temple on top of the hill was spotted. It looked very amazing, standing so magnificently before my very eyes. The sign outside before reaching the slopes says "Wat Kiri Wong".

A view of Nakon Sawan from the hill
In all of the temples I've been to in Thailand, i personally like this one. Not only because of the intricate designs and the big Buddha images but because of its favored location with cool breeze. Honestly, i did not sweat and I enjoyed it a lot!

One Damn Hot Flower

Apr 2, 2011

I like the simplicity of this flower. Its red petals with the white and green pollen grains. I would admit i was mesmerized with its beauty and color. It just seems so perfect a flower to me. This should be growing in beautifully decorated pots to make it more attractive and not on a vacant lot near the road.

Yes, it grows on a vacant lot near the road. And you know what is more sadder? It is also close to the garbage drums that waste managers get thrice every week. The drum stinks and it takes a whole lot of power to get near them lol.

The good thing about it though it grows close to the putrid garbage drums, is it literally beautifies the small spot where it grows. And if you are driving and you get to see this pretty damn hot flower, it will require a second look to verify if you just saw what you saw! One damn hottie, eh?
